Matthew Waitkus | Founding Principal & Design Director
Matthew is the Founding Principal of MW Design. He has practiced design in the San Francisco Bay Area, Palm Springs, and Miami, Florida for over 20 years. He has experience in designing a wide range of projects including retail, commercial, and multi- and single-family homes. Since founding MW Design in 2014, he has overseen all phases of design and construction projects, from conception to completion. His primary focus is on developing unique, site-specific, client-centric projects. Over the last 6 years, the firm has built a broad portfolio of projects throughout the Bay Area. Matthew received a Master’s Degree in Architecture from the University of Detroit. Before starting his own practice, he worked for top firms, including SOM and Arquitectonica, and spent 12 years performing retail design at Gap, Inc. He lives in the East Bay with his family and enjoys cooking, cycling, and traveling.
